Portofino, the smallest great harbour.
Painted houses around a tiny harbour, the yachts at anchor beyond, and the Ligurian coast on either side.
Portofino is a fishing village in scale and in nothing else. Stay on the hill and come down to the Piazzetta when the day boats have left, or lie at anchor off the point and take the tender in for dinner.
- The Piazzetta
- The harbour square, with a very good reason to sit down.
- Castello Brown
- A small fort above the harbour, with the view on every postcard.
- San Fruttuoso
- A medieval abbey on a cove, reached only by boat or on foot.
- The Riviera di Levante
- Camogli and the Cinque Terre, best seen from the sea.
