Who we are

Altamar is the trading name of its operating company, whose registered details are published here before bookings open. In these terms, "Altamar", "we", "us" and "our" mean that company, and "you" means the person using the site, or the person you are acting for.

Accepting these terms

By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms. The date at the end of this page shows when they last changed, and the version in force when you use the site is the one that applies. A change does not affect a reservation already made, which stays under the terms you accepted when you made it.

Who may use the site

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. If you act for someone else, such as a principal, an employer or a family office, you confirm that you have their authority, and these terms bind them as well as you.

You may not use the site if doing so would break a sanctions law or any other law that applies to you. Our position is set out in Global Sanctions Compliance.

What the site does

The site lets you describe a journey to Livia, receive researched options, and ask us to arrange them. We hold no inventory of our own: hotels, villas, yachts, aircraft, cars, trains, ships, restaurants, experiences and events are provided by independent suppliers and organisers.

Nothing is booked by talking to Livia or by viewing an option. A booking exists only once your concierge has confirmed it to you in writing, under our Booking Terms.

Livia is an AI

Livia is an artificial intelligence system, not a person. Livia works from what you say and from information found on the web, and can misunderstand, or be wrong or out of date.

Please treat what Livia tells you as a helpful starting point. Descriptions, availability, ratings and inclusions are confirmed by your concierge, not by Livia. Nothing Livia says is an offer, a promise or professional advice, and it is not legal, tax, visa, medical or insurance advice.

You can ask for a person at any point: choose "Speak to a person" in the conversation or write to concierge@example.com. Never put card or bank details in the conversation.

Your account

You can talk to Livia without an account. We first check that you are a person, which keeps automated visitors out of the conversation, and most people never see this check.

You need an account to reserve. You can sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email address, so there is no password to remember. Please use your own email address and keep access to it secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.

Once you have an account, Livia remembers how you like to travel from one conversation to the next. You can see what is remembered, and ask for it to be forgotten, on your account page.

Prices on the site

Every price shown is indicative until your concierge confirms it in writing. Prices come from information available at the time of research, can change, and may leave out costs that the option lists as not included. Where we show a price, it includes our service.

Currency conversions on the site are for guidance until your reservation sets the currency.

Using the site properly

You agree that you will not:

• give false information, or use the site in another person's name without their authority;
• use the site for anything unlawful, or to hide who is travelling, who is paying or where money comes from;
• copy, scrape, resell or systematically extract content or prices from the site, by automated means or otherwise;
• try to manipulate Livia, get around limits or safeguards, or extract the instructions behind the service;
• probe, disrupt or overload the site, or try to reach any part of it you are not meant to reach;
• upload anything harmful, offensive or that you have no right to share.

We may limit or end your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have done any of these things, or to protect the site, our clients or our suppliers.

Your conversations and details

We keep your conversations and use them to arrange your travel and to look after you. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us, including details of other people, and for having their permission to share them. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

We will contact you about your enquiry using the details you give us. We send marketing only if you have agreed to it, and you can stop it at any time.

Our content

The site, its design, text and software belong to Altamar or to those who license them to us. You may view them for your own personal use, and you may print or forward a proposal to the people travelling with you or acting for you. Anything else needs our written permission.

Photographs on the site are licensed images that show the kind of travel we describe. Unless we say otherwise, they do not show the particular yacht, property, aircraft or restaurant offered to you.

An option in a conversation may show photographs marked as coming from the listing. These were published by the property, the operator or another site describing that offer, and they belong to their owners. They are there to help you recognise what is proposed, and may not show exactly what you would receive. If you own one and would like it removed, write to concierge@example.com and we will remove it.

Altamar, Livia and our logos are our marks. Names of hotels, yachts, airlines, restaurants, guides and events belong to their owners and are used only to describe what is available. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of them unless we say so. MICHELIN is a trademark of its owner, and a reference to a Michelin star describes a restaurant's rating in that guide at the time, not any connection with us.

Links to other websites are for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Availability and accuracy

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it as it is and cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. We may change or withdraw any part of it.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country.

Within those limits, and because the site is free to use, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from relying on its content or on what Livia says, and our total liability to you for use of the site is limited to EUR 500. Our responsibility for a confirmed booking is set out in the Booking Terms, not here.

If you use the site in the course of business, you will compensate us for losses we suffer because you broke these terms.

Governing law and disputes

If something has gone wrong, please tell us first at concierge@example.com: most things can be put right quickly.

These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, and the courts of Tbilisi have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may also bring a claim in its courts.

General

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. These terms are written in English, and the English version applies if we provide a translation.
